The line here was built in 1906/1907 for the Soo Line as they expanded their Minnesota Empire, and built numerous lines through Duluth.
This short line would start near the Grassy Point Drawbridge, head north crossing this bridge, then crossing over present day I-35, some Burlington Northern (Ex NP) tracks and end near Mesaba Avenue.

Located in an industrial section of Duluth, this standard through girder bridge crosses 37th Avenue/Onetoa Avenue.
Built in 1907, the bridge features a single through girder span, set onto timber pile substructures. The approaches to the bridge are constructed of trestle spans.
Currently, the bridge is owned by the City of Duluth. The bridge was removed in November 2020, and the girder was trucked away in one piece. As the bridge was put up for sale previously, it is possible the main span of this bridge has found a new home.

The author has ranked this bridge as being locally significant, due to the common design.
